New fine art black and white photography contemporary / abstract images published

March 1st, 2010 by Dan Carmichael

Interest has been expressed to me about publishing what I guess would be called contemporary or abstract fine art black and white photography images.  So instead of publishing some new beautiful fine art landscape photography and infrared images I have waiting in the wings, I thought I would do so.

This first image has actually been one of my favorites for some time now:

It has been sitting in an unpublished gallery for about two years.  I’m not quite sure why I like this image so much.  Perhaps it’s the composition or Read the rest of this entry »

New Body of Work: "Fall Unto Thy Grave"

December 7th, 2009 by Dan Carmichael

Announcing a new body of work by fine art photographer Dan Carmichael.

The work, “Fall Unto Thy Grave” has been almost 5 years in the making. Conceived in 2005 and in creative process since 2006, the body of work blends the lively, colorful beauty of Autumn’s vivid colors with the sorrowful, depressing gloom of historic graveyards.

The work does not consist of traditional photographic images. Rather, it consists of artistic and abstract renderings manually created from digital image originals captured by fine art photographer Dan Carmichael.

“Fall Unto Thy Grave” – the series of photographs and the accompanying article – can be viewed here. [Click Link]

Unfortunately, the old blog has been lost due to a database error. Also unfortunate, it was not backed up. As opposed to trying to recreate the articles, I have decided to start afresh with this new blog.
